OK guys I am trying to get into this game but I am having difficulty...

First off it runs Choppy as shit and looks and feels little too much like Guildwars...

Second I cant find anything...At least in WOW when I get a quest it gives me a general direction in which to head...The only way I find shit here is by accident so far....

I'll be honest its gonna have to show me a lot more or else I am just gonna renew my WOW account and start playing that again.....

One of the things I like about it is that it forces you to explore. The maps are huge and amazing, the textures and terrians are wonderful, and watching a sunset over a lake is awesome! Makes me want to grab some wineskins and a hot elf chick and make out on the shore. Almost all of the quests give you the general area that the quest can be found in, but with the maps being that huge, it can be hard to locate exactly what you need. Though I find that I complete 3 to 5 quests just trying to find the one location I was looking for. And you get deeds and titles for killing mass amounts of smoe creatures so fight everything you see (that is not purple or elite). As for the guildwars thing, yes its a lot like it, but much more fun (for me) and way more interactive.

If its choppy in town, press 'n' to turn off the floaty names above everybody. That speeds everything up a lot.

If its just really slow in gereral try tweaking the settings lower. If that doesn't help let me know and we can see what we can do to make it better. I personally upgraded to 2GB ram from 1 GB when I started playing due to the long load times and trouble spawning in cities.

Hmmm.. runs really good on all the machines here. What video card do you have, are you running Vista?

I guess you cant turn the graphics up if you are already running choppy, and the download client doesn't have the ultra-high textures... but when it is turned up, it doesn't look much like guild wars to me. It does play like it a little, but it plays like WoW too, and just about every other RPG. It pushes you through a couple of instanced areas in the very early levels, but after you finish that you will be out in the world with the rest of us.

I wasn't crazy about the lack of way-points or markers for quests when i first started playing, but I prefer it now. The quest directions are usually pretty specific on where you need to go... some of it is tough to find, but then sometimes the hunting is the point of the quest. Usually if the quest is sending you to find a new area, or ruin.. you'll get a flag on the mp once you get close to it. So, after you find it, repeat trips are a lot easier.

What time will you be playing? We can run around together and figgure it out. :)

I have a p4 3.2, 1 gig of ram and a geforce 7800 - 512. I can run on the highest settings, and only get laggy in Bree. It should be ruinning better for you.

I got everything set to Medium and it still chops when I am running around....Its pissing me off

I'm not sure man... runs smooth as butter on mine..and our systems are almost identical cept mine is nvidia and Intel instead of radion and AMD im running a nvida 7900 with 2g of 600 ddr2 ram and a pentium 4HT 3.2 have you tried turning down the group model quality? i do that and it makes Bree bearable after it loads a second.

Thing is.... he hasn't even been to bree. There isn't any place he should be getting lag in the elf starter area. He should certainly be able to run smooth in the wild.

Do you guys ever hop on team speak or anything when you are runnin around together ..or does it have a ingame comms or what

sure would be nice to hear from some people since no body ever uses comms any more ,,cept me and Lotus.

The game has built in voice chat. We talk all the time. Well, Me and Soth talk all the time... there isn't a lot of dead air for anyone else to cram a word in ;)

As far as how long I will play it, I dunno. My original plan was to play it until Conan came out, but I doubt I will cancel then. I am not getting bored with it yet, but I am only level 35... no telling how it will be post-50.

We do still have a couple of 10 day trial keys if you want to try it out.

I personally wont be going to age of connan. Only time and money for 1 game at a time. I dont think Pyro liked it at all, and Juicy seems kinda iffy about it, so I don't know how much longer they will play for. You may want to try it out first and see how you like it. If you do decise you want a buddy key, hit me up and I'll send it over. The DL is huge though.

The in game voice chat only seems to work while in fellowship. And Sal has offered our teamspeak server up for use, but the kinship we are in uses thier own free ts server. Sal, perhaps we should start hopping onto TS and chat while we play in there. Though, most of the chat is just me yelling LEEEEEEERRRRROOOOOYYYYYY!!! and rushing into the middle of a mob. Followed quickly by please heal, and a lot of OH! Shit!. So no one is really missing much.

They are promising to keep releasing new content perodically so hopefully it will be worth investing the time in.

I will probably get it just so I got something to play with you stoopid bitches... :P But I think I am gonna renew my WOW account also...
