Subject: New forums TT
Added a new forum for the Table Top Playas out there, by request.
Subject:
cool dont' play anymore but still have all the D&D books and dice....and all of the battltech/mechwarrior books and minis..have about 100 mechs most are metal but about 20 of em are plastic
Subject:
I have a couple hundred of the wizkids mechs, but I think all the ones I have were made obsolete in a rule revision. They still work just find as desktop decor though. ;)
Subject:
Oh man I was just digging thru some of my old books a few days ago. Was at the book store and saw all the new D&D handbooks so I got Nostalgic....
I still got 1st edition players handbook printed in 77. A bunch of Rolemaster books. And for those that never heard of Rolemaster its a suped up version of the Table Top Lord of the Rings RPG. Dont have many Mechs left. But I do still have a Trophy for first place from GenCon 85 Battletech Tournament. Man I miss playing Table Top. My Son and his friends play the new D&D. I might have to crash that just to get my fix.... :)
Subject:
I have a third edition box set that Misty found for me at half-price books. It even still has all the original plastic mechs. I have a handful of the pewter minis and a couple of scenario books, but I have never played a single game of classic Battletech. Me and Hawlk used to go play in dark age tournaments, but I generally just got my ass kicked.

This is going to be awesome when we get it off the ground a little. Just think, instead of using TS for comns with other games, IT becomes the game?! ...Though with the new D&D4th edition, there is a Table-Top layout application for online play, complete with a die roller, miniatures etc. Which would be so cool for us here.
However, for the time being we're going to play some "SpellWinds", which is a homebrew game of mine based heavily on AD&D SpellJammer 2nd Edition, but designed to be a bit more simple for comns play. (I'll be playing with DDM_Shadoweyes sometime next week, as soon as he gets the Headset I sent him, and gets TS downloaded.) Meantime, if anyone (or say 2 max) wants "In" (or you can just listen in?) on some Old-School RPG, just let me know & I'll Email you the Character Gen & Classes Docs you'll be needing. However, this can just be a couple times a week, and we could still play D&D, or even StarWars (I have all the 2nd Edition books) on other nights. We need DM\GM's who are ready to go. I'm mostly free on Sat & Sun, and afternoons, I work evenings :( . Hey, you ever heard of these "Tolkien Quest" Solo Adventure books, put out by I.C.E in 1985? I have one called: "The Legend of Weathertop." You can use MERP characters with them, etc. You guys are Cool. Right on!!!!! Table-top gaming, Fricken awesome!!!!! Lugz.

Subject: Re: New forums TT
I have here my oldest (RPG)book, "Middle-Earth Role Playing" 2nd US Edition July 1986. Its quite thin, 126 pages.
I'm currently into designing my own game (last in a long line over the years), named "Spell-Winds", as mentioned above. The reason I like this so much, I guess, is because I'm quite creative and like drawing maps, cities, that sort of thing. "Building" as DM's are prone to do! I've taken a really old 2d sketch city map (Vergrimm), and scanned it into my computer, & am using Google Sketch-up to bring the old Table Top drawing to life in 3d. (I'd like to post a picture of my work here, if anyone can help me with that). I'd like to see the DDM with there OWN Table Top game, with it's own on-line maps (hopefully in 3D!), Character Generation Docs ('Honor system" for those die-rolls), Race Descriptions, and yes Ranks... And to sort of get the ball rolling, I'd volunteer my work so-far on this project, as a down payment. We can work on this together, share ideas, drawings, spells (those are a big need), encounter ideas, languages, NPC characters... Vergrimm City was my starting point years ago & should be our starting point again. Vergrimm (as the Regional Capital of the Assiniboine Province) needs Knights, Government positions, several Gatekeepers, [Hey, and a Mercenary Guild! the DDM is a shoe-in!], politicians, all manner of adventurers, shop & Inn keepers (though I already have several Inns, though only one Inn keeper so far at the "Pit Troll Tavern,") the "Dog & Beggar" just outside the city needs a keeper, as well as the "Slaughtered Lamb" on the outer eastern side of the city, -though its a bit close to ThornWood Forest... These would be mostly NPC like positions I'd guess. Anyways, please get back to me & I'll collect everything and organize it into the whole. Jacen, aka Lugz.

Well, there are several ways to do that:
On a side note(s). Has Savage moved on or is he interested in coming back? I saw that your buddy has registered. Have him make a hello post and I will change his forum tags to add in DDM_ and we can get him squared away with the forum.

 Well I decided to post a few links to my Facebook account insted... Yesterday I was having some up-load issues with our forums. (I had gotten a "Security Alert" which I don't know could be from my side? Whatever!) This way is easier for everyone who's interested.
So these 3 links are fairly self explanatory. The first is the original scan of the old quick sketch of the (at the time D&D) city of Vergrimm... & evolution of a 2d map into a living 3d map: http://www.facebook.com/photo.php?pid=42187&l=ef84796314&id=100000120096580 The second is of some of the Arches over the gates, etc.... http://www.facebook.com/photo.php?pid=42186&l=58b68783a1&id=100000120096580 And lastly of a more detailed Waterfront area in what would be Vergrim City "actual." http://www.facebook.com/photo.php?pid=42189&l=5ebe2eb85d&id=100000120096580 Keep in mind that these were done on Google Sketch-up, which is a free program, and has quite limited Textures. (Though my own collection is growing). When the city is done I have a nice backdrop for it for realism, and a few more models I can get from there 3d Warehouse which is also free downloads. Comments are more than welcome bros. Lugz. Last edited by DDM_LuGz on Sat Aug 22, 2009 5:18 pm; edited 1 time in total
